After Mass and procession, the statue was placed on the parvis. Rector Canon Refalo briefly dwelt on the life of St Francis of Assisi and his love for the environment and nature and exhorted all those present to care for animals. Fr George Bugeja ofm then blessed all those present and went round blessing their pets which they had with them in Church and which they had carried during the procession . Everybody present was then treated to refreshments.
