On 26 May 1878 the Dedication (Consecration) of the Church took place by Bishop Mgr Pietro Pace. So this year the parish celebrated the 131st Anniversary of this important event in the Church's history. The day is solemnly remembered every year and this year too Solemn Celebrations during the day culminated in the Solemn Celebration of the Holy Eucharist at 7.00 p.m. Mgr Archpriest led members of the Collegiate Chapter in celebrating Mass. Mass animator was Mrs Carmen Bajada, the Altar Boys Choir with Mr Ivan Attard on the organ animated the singing. Leading the congregation were youngsters who will be receiving the sacrament of Confirmation the coming Friday. After Mass, the celebrants moved to the altar of St Paul where Mgr Archpriest opened and blessed an exhibition of religious objects related to St Paul. The Parish was in its second day of Pauline Week as part of the Diocesan celebrations of the Pauline Year marking the 2000th anniversary of the birth of St Paul. In his address, Mgr Refalo, thanked all those who contributed to the success of the exhibition especially the Rector of the Church of Marsalforn, Can Michael Borg, who provided the titular statue and titular painting of the Church there. It is to be stated that the Church of St Paul in Marsalforn falls under the jurisdiction of the Parish of Xaghra.
