The first Parish pilgrimage in Lent 2009 was due to be held from the Church of St Anthony the Abbot to the Basilica on Friday 6th March. A few days earlier it was stationed in the small Church waiting to be taken in procession to the Basilica. But for the second year in succession there it had to stay sheltered in the Church. The day was not spared the inclement weather which had gripped the islands for many days. Strong winds and rain had their say and the statue stayed in the Church of St Anthony the Abbot until the following Sunday. On Monday 9th March it was then moved to the Basilica. Next pilgrimage is due the following Friday, March 13th when the procession with the statue of Christ Fallen Under The Cross - Ir-Redentur - is carried with great devotion from Nazzarenu Church to the Basilica.
