The installation of Fr Joseph Bajada from Xaghra as Parish Priest of Fontana took place on Sunday 10th January 2010. Before the ceremony in Fontana, Fr Joseph paid a visit to his Parish Church, the Basilica of Maria Bambina. There he was welcomed by Archpriest Mgr Carmelo Refalo. After praying in front of the Tabernacle, Archpriest Refalo delivered a farewell speech and presented Fr Joseph with a silver framed picture of Maria Bambina, a gift from the Parish. He was also presented with a gift from the altar boys. After replying to the Archpriest`s address, Fr Joseph laid a bouquet at the feet of Maria Bambina in her niche. The faithful present gathered around him shaking hands with him andwishing him well in his new post as Parish Priest of Fontana. Fr Joseph then drove to the Bishop`s Seminary, where until recently he served as its Deputy Rector. With his bishop there, vespers were held and then he proceeded to Fontana Parish Church for the official installation as its Spiritual Leader.
