For over three decades, each year at Christmastime, the young members of the MUSEUM Male section in Xaghra, invite the public to view their mechanised Crib. Visitors enjoy the crib coming to life with pasturi moving all over the place. While the story of the Nativity of Our Lord is narrated, Joseph leads a donkey with Mary riding on it. He knocks on the door of an Inn. The innkeeper comes out saying that no room is available but leads them to a cave nearby. Joseph and Mary enter and the Inn keeper returns to the Inn. The crying of a baby heralds the Birth of the Saviour. The manger, which till now was in darkness, turns full of light and Maryappears kissing Jesus and laying Him in the manger with Joseph in adoration. On the left of the crib, an angel announces the birth to the shepherds who leave the pastures to go to the manger. Meantime, a shining star moving at the back of the crib shows the Magi in the distance making their way to Betlehem. Then, coming from the right hand side of the cribtheyarrive near the mangerand adore the New Born Baby then leaving through another way. Visitors are impressed with the movements making it all look like real life. Not yet rated
