The second day of week`s celebrations leading to the feast of St Anthony the Abbot was dedicated to Religious Vocations. Celebrating Mass at 6.30 p.m. in the church of the Saint was Fr Daniel Xerri, Rector of the Gozo Bishop`s Seminary. Co celebrating were Can. John Sultana, Rector of the Church, ex Rector Can John Bartolo and Fr Anthony Bajada. With Marvic Gauci on the synthesizer and Anna and Annalise sisters Bonello playing the violin, Michelle Bajada and Lucia Gauci animated the singing. During the homily, Fr Xerri appealed for prayers for vocations and had a word to young people to listen to the call God makes to them. They should not be afraid and not hesitate to say ˜Yes` if they feel the religious call. After the homily, the altar boys of the Church renewed their vows in committing themselves to serve the altar faithfully. This was followed by the investiture of a new altar boy, young Simon Mercieca.
