After Mass, at 10.00 a.m. on Saturday 16 January 2010, the children followed in procession the statue of St Anthony the Abbot to St Anthony Square. There it was placed on the stage put up for the following day`s ceremony of blessing of animals. In the Square, Mr. Joe Louis Sciberras organized games for them and Canon John Sultana, Rector of St Anthony the Abbot`s Church, distributed bags of sweets to all those present. When the games were over he also presented a medal to all participants in the games. The day was far from ideal, It was cloudy and dark skies, gloomy, showers every now and then and biting cold thanks to the northerly winds blowing. Still, many children attended and enjoyed themselves.
