On Saturday 16 January 2010, eve of the Liturgical Feast of St Anthony the Abbot,at 6.00 p.m. His Lordship Mgr Nicholas J Cauchi, Bishop Emeritus of Gozo, celebrated the Holy Eucharist in the medieval Church dedicated to the Saint. Co celebrating were Mgr Carmelo Refalo, Xaghra Archpriest; Can John Sultana, Rector of the Church; Can John Bartolo, deputy Rector; Cantor Can Anthony Refalo. Deacon Stephen Magro Ofm and Fr Renato Borg, Bishop's personal Secretary were in attendance. The Bishop delivered the homily. The singing was animated by Schola Cantorum Jubilate under the direction of Ms Marouska Attard withMr Jacob Portelliaccompanying on the organ. Before Mass, Vespers were sung, led by Fr Anthony Bajada. After Mass, Archpriest Refalo presented the Bishop with a copy of the cd video "Our Priests"by Joseph Lee Hooker and published by Come Alive Communications Inc ASCAPwhich includedpictures from the Xaghra Parish Website and which is being shown on American Tv stations.
