The Xaghra Association of Australia Inc. held their 2010 dinner dance at Lakeside Banquet & Convention Centre in Taylors Lakes, Melbourne,Victoria, on Saturday 11th September to commemorate the feast of Marija Bambina and Malta Victories Day. Mr Joe Borg began proceedings with his opening speech followed by the national anthems of both Malta and Australia. A minute silence was held in respect to the grieving familiesand the victims of the tragedy that happened in Gharb, Gozo on Sunday the 5th of September 2010, followed by a closing speech from treasurer Mrs Antoinette Bajada, who ended by wishing everyone an enjoyable and succesful night.Over 450 people attended including guests from Sydney who make the traditional trip down to Melbourne every year.
