For the thirtieth year, the young altar boys at the Vocational Centre organised the children's procession of the Passion on Palm Sunday in the evening, a prelude to the renowned Good Friday Procession and Pageant on 2nd April. On a cold evening and watched by a large crowd, young children evendown tothe age of two showed their worth obeying rules and acting like adults in solemn pageantry. Taking half an hour to leave the Basilica, the return had to be speeded up because the more the nightdrew nearer the more the cold weather took hold. This unique event in the Maltese islands and as far as is known nothing like it beyond our shores "is worth every second to watch and will surely drawgreat crowds given the right publicity"an English first time visitor commented after the event. The young directorsat the Vocational Centre under the guidance of Mgr Archpriest Carmelo Refalo are to be congratulated for another successful presentation.
