Din l-attivita`, li bdiet issir fil-g\ejjer Maltin g]all-ewwel darba fil-Festa tal-Epifanija fis-sena 2010 fix-Xag]rahija organizzata mill-G]aqda œIl-Milied fix-Xag]ra bil-kollaborazzjoni s]i]a tal-Ar`ipriet Mons. Carmelo Refalo, tax-Xag]ra Historical Re enactment Organization, tal-Guiding Light Youth Group u ta` Victor Muscat`s Horse Riding.
Cavalcata dei Re Magi in Xag]ra
For the third year running, the arrival of the Magi was presented in Xag]ra Gozo on the feast of the Epiphany which was celebrated in the Maltese Islands on the 8 January 2012. At 10.15 a.m., the Malta Tama Tnabar Association of Malta paraded in Victory Square beating their drums heralding the arrival of the Magi and entertaining the crowd gradually getting bigger and bigger. At 10.30 a.m. ˜Joseph with Mary` cradling a few months old baby ˜Jesus` entered Victory Square. When they took their place in front of the Basilica, three shepherds with their spotless white sheep arrived and after paying their homage to the Baby they joined the Holy Family on the parvis. Converging on the Square from three different routes, the three Wise Men (The Magi) riding on horseback found their Pages waiting with the gifts - gold, incense and myrrh. From one end of the Square they followed the Star, high up hanging from the Parish offices and moving across the Square towards the ˜Holy Family`. There they presented their gifts to the Child. A large crowd attended the event. This activity, the first to be started in Gozo in 2010, was organised by the Society Christmas in Xag]ra with the collaboration of Mgr Carmelo Refalo, Xag]ra Archpriest,the Xag]ra Historical Re enactment Organization, the Guiding Light Youth Group, and Victor Muscat`s Horse Riding.
