St Joseph is Co Patron Saint of Xaghra Parish with the Patron, Maria Bambina, the Nativity of Our Lady. Itis befitting, therefore,that the feast of Saint Joseph is celebrated with great devotion and appropriate manifestation every year, and this on the first Sunday in May. After the Triduum, three days before the eve of the feast, the main celebrant at Mass in the afternoonwill traditionally be the Bishop of Gozo. H.L. Bishop Mario Grech was therefore once more this year the main celebrant. Co celebrating were the Collegiate Chapter and Clergy of the Parish led by Mgr. Carmelo Refalo, the Archpriest. Mro Oreste Ravanello's Mass In Honorem Sancti Josephi Calasantii was sung. Orchestra and Choir Voci Angeliche and organ played by Ivan Attard were under the direction of Mro Antoine Theuma. When Mass was over, procession with the artisitic and devout statue of St Joseph left the Basilica.
