Fr Michael Curmi was born to Peter and Maria nee Apap on 9th May 1982. He has two younger brothers, Fr Joseph and Deacon Mario. After attending the Patri Mattew Sultana Primary School in Xaghra he continued higher education at the Bishop's Seminary in Victoria and continued his post Secondary Education at Sir Michael Angelo Refalo School in Victoria and the School of Music in Sannat. In September 2000 he entered the Major Seminary where he continued studying for the priesthood for seven years. He was ordained to the Presbytery at the Gozo Cathedral by His Lordship Bishop Mario Grech on 30th June 2007, He continued his studies for the Formation of Seminarians at the Gregorian University in Rome. During this time he carried out pastoral duties at the Parish of the Nativity in Rome. In the year 2009 he returned to Gozo having been assigned the post of Deputy Rector of the Major Seminary in Gozo. He was also teaching at the Bishop's Conservatory Secondary School in Victoria. On 24th April 2015 he was appointed by Bishop Mgr Mario Grech as Archpriest of the parish of Sannat in place of Mgr Tarcisio Camilleri on the latter's retirement as Archpriest of the village. On Monday 21 July 2015, Fr Michael Curmi was installed as the new Archpriest of the Parish of St Margaret, Sannat, Gozo. To the New Archpriest, our congratulations and AD MULTOS ANNOS.
