The 'Ghaqda Il--Milied fix-Xaghra' (Society Christmas in Xaghra) held its first public activity with the Annual Crib Seminar. This year it is being held over two sessions the first one on Sunday 8th November, held at the Xaghra Youth Centre and starting at 09:30. The theme this year was about building the crib in Diorama. The presenter this year was Mr Adrian Psaila well known and an authority in this art of crib building. Attendance was again very encouraging with young and elderly attending. Mr Victor Agius, Founder/Chairman of the Society welcomed the audience and introduced Mr Psaila who immediately started the very interesting lecture depicting different aspects to watch out when building the crib diorama. Archpriest Mgr Carmelo Refalo halfway into the lecture addressed the audience congratulating the Society for this activity and those attending for their interest in crib building which he described as the bible alive. Mr Psaila then continued with the technical aspect. The second session will take place on Sunday 13th December when the Italian crib artist Sig Fabio Squatrito from the Museum of the Crib of Giarre in Sicily will make his presentation. This will be at the same place and at the same time as the first session. The activities of this Seminar are being held together with the Ghaqda Hbieb tal-Presepju Ghawdex-Malta, Ghajnsielem Section, and in collaboration with the Committee Christmas in Gozo within the Ministry for Gozo.
