Archpriest Emeritus, Mgr Eucaristico Sultana, is this year celebrating the Golden Jubilee of being ordained priest. The sixth day of the Novena of the Festa was dedicated to the Catholic Priesthood. Very appropriately, Mgr Sultana celebrated the Solemn Mass today with dozens of priests from Xaghra and all over Gozo co-celebrating. Bishop Mgr Joe Bugeja OFM and Bishop elect Mgr George Bugeja OFM were present for the ceremony at 7.00 pm. Mgr Sultana's brothers and sisters with their families led the congregation which included Xaghra Mayor, the Hon. Minister for Gozo and Hon Members of Parliament. Orchestra and Choir and four Soloists were under the direction of Mro Josef Debrincat. mass in C (Corination Mass) KV 137 by W. A. Mozart was executed The choir was the Schola Cantorum Jubilate. Archpriest Mgr Carmelo Refalo delivered the homily in which he thanked Mgr Sultana for the many years, over thirty years, he dedicated his life for the benefit of the Parish as its Archpriest. After Mass, Mgr Sultana gave a reception for all those attending on the revamped Church Parvis.
