The Two Sieges were commemorated in Victory Square after Pontifical Mass in the Basilica. Prior to the First event, Joseph Portelli playing the guitar, entertained the gathering with a series of pleasant guitar music, his own repertoire. The first event opening the Commemoration were a Group of Bandieratori from Sestiere Porta Bonomini Sulmona, region of Abruzzo, Italy. They delighted the large crowd of locals, Maltese and tourists present with a splendid display of flag waving. This was the first time it took place and hopefully it won't be the last.
