XAGHRA ASSOCIATION OF AUSTRALIA INC. (Melbourne) PICNIC The Xaghra Association of Australia Inc. (Melbourne) held the Annual Picnic today, Sunday, 5th February 2017 at Brimbank Park. The day was warm, cloudy with sunny breaks. Around 175 members and friends attended and had a great day. There was plenty of food and drink. A BBQ was organised by the committee and a few members and friends offered a hand for the cooking. Afterwards everyone was served with the meal they were offered within seconds A glass of wine was also offered with the meal. Afterwards it was time for afternoon tea and everyone enjoyed a cup of tea of coffee and a lot of biscuits, cakes and sweets, most of which was brought by members. Every year we are asked to attend and this year we found the time and we were very happy we did. A good gathering of friendly people who make you welcome. Present were a few guests among them Fr Manny Bonello, from Xaghra, Parish Priest of St. Joseph the Worker Parish in North Reservoir. Xaghra Association of Australia celebrates the Feast of Maria Bambina in the Maltese Cultural Centre in Albion. Myself and wife Salvina represented Reskeon Maltese Assocaition Seniors Group, as we also celebrate the Feast of Maria Bambina at the Maltese Centre, Parkville, and St Mary Star of the Sea, West Melbourne. We are always proud to have members from the Xaghra Association to join us for the Feast of Marija Bambina as both Associations have much in common. We thank President, Mr Tony Bonello, and his committee for making us welcome and on our part, we were so happy to meet them and all the members and thank them for their friendship.
