The Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows was held, like in all parishes in Malta and Gozo, on Friday 7th April. This is a feast of the greatest devotion, it was in fact the third pilgrimage in Lent. Procession with the Statue of Our Lady of Sorrows, accompanied by the Victory Band of the town playing funereal marches left the Basilica at 18:00hrs. The Collegiate Chapter, Clergy and altar boys from the Parish, Nazzarenu and Sant'Anton churches took part. as well as a congregation of men carrying small wooden crosses held on their chests. Hundreds of parishioners followed in devotion reciting the Rosary. After the procession, Solemn Mass, with Mgr Carmelo Refalo, Xaghra Archpriest the main celebrant, was held in the Basilica starting at 19:hrs. Weather was very good. Photos by Noel Camilleri.
