The Feast of St Anthony the Abbot was celebrated in Xaghra on Sunday 22nd January. Traditionally this is celebrated on the third Sunday in January to be nearer to the Liturgical Feast on 17th January. But this year it had to be postponed to the fourth Sunday because of the enthronement of Mgr Joseph Sultana, hailing from Xaghra, as Archpriest of the Cathedral Parish in Victoria. Because of inclement weather some changes had to be made to the planned program.
